From my bookshelf: books on graphic design
I find books on graphic design and related subjects tend to belong to one of two categories. They are either ultra-traditional or ultra-modern in content and outlook. Unfortunately, the problem with both these categories is that they become victims of time. Yet, there are some books which—according to my experience—are timeless and worth turning to for reference, instruction or inspiration.
Here are some of my recommended books on graphic design and related subjects:
A History Of Graphic Design (ISBN:0-471-29198-6)
100 Design Principles For Using Grids (ISBN:978-1-59253-472-2)
Typographic Design: Form & Communication (ISBN:978-0-471-78390-9)
Calligrapher's Bible (ISBN:978-0-7136-6504-8)
Package Design Workbook (ISBN:978-1-59253-322-0)
